Stairs 3.0- Anyone there? Beuhler? Beuhler?

Postby aharwin » Fri Dec 05, 2014 9:00 am

Is there anyone on this forum old enough to even get that joke? :D

Please tell me if I'm doing the cut stair incorrectly...think I did it wrong on the 4.0 stair...but no comments.

Thanks-
Amy

Extend the handrails only one or two click beyond the stair cut line.

Why did you do 5'-0" wide stairs?

Beuhler is back...

The stair with the AOR had to be 48" CLEAR + 8" of handrails = 4'-8" min. width of the stair
I could have done them that width but decided to go with the width of the lower landing...probably an overbuild but hopefully wouldn't fail me!

It looks like you have different riser heights for each leg of the stair. Is this acceptable?

"Treads shall be uniform in depth and risers of uniform height in any flight of stairs" - Is this not referring to the stair as a whole?

On the 2nd level, did you factor in the fact that the door cannot project more than halfway into the required landing. Is there 3'-0" between the edge of the door when fully open and the beginning of the area of refuge?

You're interpreting the code incorrectly.
